Kirchner was elected to the House of Deputies but the Front of Victory lost in the key province of Buenos Aires to an opposition right-wing coalition. After midnight he conceded defeat but assured that his party will start working to become an alternative in the 2011 Presidential elections.

"We are not going to become autistics. An exercise of reflection must begin and we must start a debate to analyze the reasons for this electoral setback and how to overcome it", said Rossi, who was reelected Sunday in his home province of Santa Fe.

The Congressman added that on Sunday "there was a positive vote for the opposition’s proposals and a vote of punishment against us".
